Mijn naam is Ilse en ik ben werkzaam als freelance illustrator.In 1999 ben ik afgestudeerd aan de afdeling illustratie vanCHK Constantijn Huygens te Kampen, tegenwoordig Artez Zwolle.Sinds 2009 woon en werk ik in Glasgow, Schotland.Ik werk in opdracht voor Nederlandse en Schotse klanten.

Illustratie is het gegeven van een afbeelding bij een verhaal,gedicht, artikel, soms een enkel woord.Een goede illustratie overstijgt het letterlijk verbeelden en biedt de lezer een verrassende, originele kijk.

Ik maak illustraties in opdracht voor kinder- en jeugdboeken, educatieve uitgaven, tijdschrift, krant, wenskaarten en uitnodigingen.Voorbeelden zijn te vinden op deze website onder de verschillende tabs in mijn portfolio.

My name is Ilse and I am a freelance illustrator.I graduated from Art School CHK Constantijn Huygens te Kampen, nowadays Artez Zwolle.In 2009 I moved to Glasgow, where I now live and work.I work under assignment for customers in Scotland and The Netherlands.

Illustration is the image with a text: a story, a poem, article, sometimes a single word translated into a visual.A good illustration exceeds the literal translation of text into image and surprises the reader with an original view.

I make illustrations for children books, educational editions, magazines, paper, cards and invitations.You can view examples of my work on this website where you click on the different tabs in Portfolio.
